โ›ณ Hopewell Junction, NY ยท Est. 1963
Beekman Golf Course
Converted from pasture land in 1963, Beekman is a USGA-rated, par 72 facility set within the foothills of the Berkshires as they rise from the Hudson Valley. Three signature 9-hole courses โ€” Valley, Highland, and Taconic โ€” wind through rolling terrain with spectacular mountain and valley views. The league alternates through each nine, one per week.
๐Ÿ“ 11 Country Club Rd โ˜Ž 845-226-7700 27 Holes Par 36 per 9 Architect: Phil Shatz Semi-Private
The Valley nine tumbles across rolling terrain through the heart of the property. Its signature hole is the 6th, where one of the country's largest oak trees guards the fairway. A mix of long par 5s and demanding par 3s makes scoring here deceptively tricky despite the open feel.

The Highland nine plays over elevated terrain with sweeping views over the Hudson Valley. Its signature hole is the par-3 4th, a demanding downhill shot that rewards a precise iron. The course rating is the most forgiving of the three, but the undulating greens demand careful approach play.
White Tee
3,096 yds ยท Par 36
Gold Tee

The Taconic nine is the most challenging of the three โ€” and the most scenic. Tight fairways demand accuracy off the tee, and several water hazards add pressure throughout the round. The standout hole is the 6th, a long par 5 where water fronts the green, punishing any approach that comes up short.

Our Preferred Conditions
๐Ÿงน
Clean & Replace
In the fairway, you may lift your ball, clean it, and place it within one club-length of where it lay โ€” no closer to the hole. The ball must be replaced in the fairway (not moved to the rough or a better lie).
๐ŸŒฟ
Relief from Roots & Ground
If your ball comes to rest on or against an exposed tree root, hardpan, or ground under repair, you may take free relief โ€” drop within one club-length of the nearest point of complete relief, no closer to the hole.
01 ยท Scoring & Format
Match Play โ€” 9 Holes
โ†’ Each week you play a head-to-head match against one player from another team. You must play in the same group as your opponent.
โ†’ Scoring is net โ€” your handicap strokes are applied hole by hole before comparing scores.
โ†’ Win a hole: 2 points  ยท  Tie a hole: 1 point each  ยท  Lose a hole: 0 points.
โ†’ A bonus 2 points goes to the player with the lowest net score for the round (1 each if tied).
โ†’ Maximum score per hole: Double par. Pick up your ball and record double par โ€” no need to keep hacking.
02 ยท On the Tee
Starting Each Hole
โ†’ Tee your ball anywhere between the tee markers and up to two club-lengths behind them.
โ†’ The honor (first to tee) goes to the player with the lowest net score on the previous hole. Tied holes keep the same order.
โ†’ If you knock the ball off the tee without intending to swing, it is not a stroke โ€” re-tee with no penalty.
03 ยท Fairway & Rough
Playing the Ball
โ†’ Play the ball as it lies. Don't improve your lie, stance, or swing path by bending or breaking anything โ€” except under the local rules above.
โ†’ You may remove loose impediments (leaves, twigs, stones) near your ball without penalty โ€” as long as you don't move the ball in the process.
โ†’ If you can't find your ball, you have 3 minutes to search. After that, the ball is lost.
04 ยท Penalties & Relief
Common Situations
โ†’ Out of bounds (white stakes): Stroke and distance โ€” replay from where you last hit, adding 1 penalty stroke. Play a provisional ball before searching to keep pace.
โ†’ Lost ball: Same as OB โ€” stroke and distance, 1 penalty stroke. Play a provisional to keep pace.
โ†’ Water hazard / penalty area (red or yellow stakes): 1 penalty stroke. Drop within two club-lengths of where the ball crossed the margin, or replay from the original spot.
โ†’ Unplayable lie: 1 penalty stroke. Drop within two club-lengths of the ball (not nearer the hole), drop behind keeping the ball between you and the hole, or replay from the original spot.
โ†’ Cart path / immovable obstruction: Free relief. Find the nearest point of complete relief and drop within one club-length, no closer to the hole.
05 ยท On the Green
Putting It Out
โ†’ You may mark, lift, and clean your ball on the green at any time.
โ†’ Repair ball marks and old hole plugs on your line. You may not repair spike marks or other damage before your putt.
โ†’ The flagstick may stay in or be removed โ€” your choice on every putt.
โ†’ Conceded putts: If a putt is short enough that it shouldn't be missed โ€” especially when it doesn't affect the hole's outcome โ€” it may be conceded. Pick up and count it as holed.
โ†’ The player farthest from the hole putts first. Off the green, the player farthest away plays first.
06 ยท Pace of Play
Keep It Moving
โ†’ Keep up with the group in front of you. If you fall a full hole behind, you may be asked to let faster groups through.
โ†’ Be ready to play when it's your turn. Plan your shot while others are playing.
โ†’ If your ball is clearly lost, drop near where it went and take the penalty โ€” don't burn time on a futile search.
โ†’ Hit your double-par limit and pick up. There's no shame in it โ€” it keeps the round enjoyable for everyone.
07 ยท Etiquette
The Spirit of the Game
โ†’ Respect the course. Replace divots, rake bunkers after playing, and repair your ball marks on the green.
โ†’ Keep carts on the path near greens and tee boxes. Follow any posted cart rules on the course.
โ†’ Stand still and stay quiet when someone is addressing or hitting the ball.
โ†’ Call "fore!" immediately and loudly if your ball is heading toward another group.
โ†’ Golf is self-reported. Count every stroke, every penalty โ€” your score is your word.
